Instead, games like these breed a new kind of gamer, and at the same time, the offer up time wasters which won’t make you so engrossed in the game that you stop anything else you’re doing. Sure an epic title every once in a while is a good thing, but games like the Uphill Rush game series offer a brief respite from more serious affairs. As a whole through, is that so bad?
What Uphill Rush offers you
Over the years Spil Games have developed a number of iterations to this title, and while their freshman title wasn’t so good, over time they built this game into a venerable title on its own. Uphill Rush is not of those games that is chock-full of features or highly advanced gaming concepts. Instead, it is often more fun and fluid, which makes the experience for a lot of people, and makes it easier to access it for those new to the world of gaming.
The concept of Uphill Rush is fairly simple; it’s side scrolling racer after all. At the same time, it also has an addictive quality about it, and it has become more evident with each new title to come out. The physics have gotten better, and the worlds have become more detailed with each passing title. Since there are only three tracks to choose from in most of the series, you can be forgiven for thinking this is a boring affair. However, spliced into these levels are huge loop de loops, massive jumps, and obstacles that will hinder you from your main objective. Additionally, you are also tasked with collecting stars to enhance your end game score, and power ups in the form of turbo help you beat the time limit imposed on you.
To split up each level, you can also go into upgrade mode on some of the variations of the game. This means you can make that dream bike, or if you can afford it, you can plow around with a huge monster truck on each level. Speaking of which, there are also several different vehicles you can take to the tracks and race, one of which is a horse. Progression is also important in the game, and when you finish it on a normal level, you can also shift up to hard difficulties which make your experience much more high tension.
Another side note related to the Uphill Rush game series, is that each iteration has its own unique bonus levels. For the third installment, there were many different modes to choose from, where only specific vehicles could be used. On some, it is also important that you do some stunts while through the air. Looking at it now, as a series, this game has a lot to offer and is completely free too, so it would be hard to pass up trying this title.
